BFF Film
School

A short film competition for emerging filmmakers from across the region — with a prize that helps you make your next one.

BFF Film School is the festival's competition programme dedicated to emerging filmmakers and film students. Each year, a selection of short films is screened at the festival and evaluated by a jury of industry professionals.

The competition was created from a simple observation: the most important thing a young filmmaker needs after finishing their first film is the resources to make their second one. The prize is designed with that in mind.

€2,000

Grand Prize

Post-production services — colour grading, sound mix, and digital intermediate — provided by a professional post-production studio. The prize is designed to give winners the technical quality their next project deserves.

The competition is open to student films and short films by filmmakers at the beginning of their career. Films from the former Yugoslav region and neighbouring countries are especially encouraged, though submissions from anywhere in the world are accepted.
